Overview
FontCap is designed with privacy in mind. We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide font synchronization across your devices. We do not sell your data, track your behavior, or use analytics services.
Data We Collect
Account Information
- Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
- Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)
Device Information
- Device identifier (randomly generated UUID)
- Device name (your computer's hostname)
- Operating system type and version
Font Data
- Font files you choose to sync
- Font metadata (name, family, weight, style)
- File hash (SHA-256) for deduplication
How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and secure your account
- To sync your fonts across your registered devices
- To prevent duplicate font uploads using file hashing
- To display which devices are connected to your account
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides:
- Row-level security ensuring you can only access your own data
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS)
- Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
- JWT-based authentication with automatic token refresh
No Tracking
FontCap does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party telemetry services. We do not monitor your usage patterns or share any data with advertisers.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data at any time through the app
- Delete individual fonts from your library
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your font files
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (fonts, device registrations, settings) is permanently removed from our servers.
